Canada: It’s time to take the crown

By Gibril Koroma, Editor and Publisher, the Patriotic Vanguard

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney will visit Washington Tuesday, his first official visit to that country to meet with President Donald Trump. Here is what we think about this visit:

1. A lot of Canadians on mainstream and social media have been advising the Prime Minister to be careful with what will happen at the Oval Office of the White House which is a regular platform President Trump uses to talk to his supporters who will be glued to their television sets to see their leader’s theatrical performances. His engulfing handshakes and attempts to belittle and humiliate his foreign guests and other theatrics are all meant to entertain his MAGA followers and to project himself as a strongman and Alfa male, the kind of leader admired and worshipped by his unblinking masses.

2. Oval Office appearances under Trump are therefore not really meant for serious business, they are just theatre. Real business is done behind closed doors. The Prime Minister should consequently just smile and say little but should firmly respond if Trump comments on Canadian sovereignty (his masses will look forward to it) or subsidizing Canada (which is not true or factual).

3. The American people are largely not happy with Trump and his government after 100 days in office and he would look forward to Make America Great Again by saying annoying things to the Canadian leader. The MAGA people would love it as they drink beer in bars and at home across America as they watch Trump’s drama. Trump greatly needs this at this time. He is political fortunes are sinking rapidly.

4. As Prime Minister Carney said recently, Canada is about to take over as leader of the free world while America is gradually losing that position. For decades Canada had been offered that crown but had always gently refused it.

Maybe the time has now come to take it.
