BMI Airlines Launched in Sierra Leone

The new British airline BMI, was officially launched recently at an impressive ceremony at the Country Lounge.

BMI Chief Executive Officer, Nigel Turner, told journalists that BMI’s operations into the Sierra Leone airspace will open up in the airlines market and will fly three times weekly (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) from the Freetown International Airport to London Heathrow Terminal, adding that BMI is an impressive flight network that includes 17 new destinations throughout Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia.

According to Nigel Turner, BMI is the second largest airline operating through London’s Heathrow Airport and is now the sole British carrier operating flights between Freetown and the U.K.

Turner said that the airline offers quality services for its customers including food and drinks services, flight entertainment by offering up to 22 films, and encourage customers to enroll into one of the industry’s most generous reward schemes - the Diamond Club.

It also gives customers the chance to earn airmiles on flights and take advantage of exclusive offers including discounts and upgrades with hotel and car hire partners.
BMI is a member of the Star Alliance, established in 1997.
