The Hon. Vice President, Ambassador, Dr. Victor Bockarie Foh on Sunday 17th July, 2016 visited the northern town of Magburaka, capital of the Tonkolili District for the funeral rites of the late Hon. Mabel Neneh Turay who died on 6th July, 2016 at the age of 67.

In his tribute to the late Hon. Mabel Turay at the Magburaka Seventh Day Adventist Church, Vice President Foh, on behalf of His Excellency the President, thanked the people of Tonkolili, particularly the APC family for giving such a dignified departure to a former comrade and sister.

VP. Foh paid a glowing tribute to the late Honorable who was fondly called ’Orteacher’ and attributed the gains made by the governing APC in Tonkolili to her hard work and dedication.

"The late Hon. Turay served the APC party well", declared the Hon. Vice President, emphasising that Tonkolili, in the 2007 general elections, had the highest number of votes for the APC.

Addressing the late woman’s children, VP. Foh reassured them of a place in the APC party. He informed them of how highly the party values the contribution of their late mother to the growth of the APC in Tonkolili.

"You the children must endeavour to reap where your mother had sowed", he said.

With these parting words, the Hon. Vice President bade his final farewell to the late Mabel Neneh Turay:

"On behalf of His Excellency the President, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, my humble self and the APC Party which you so heartily served, I say fare thee well Mabel, farewell and take your rest. Till we meet on that beautiful shore."

At the graveside, the Hon. VP officially handed over the APC Party flag to the son of the late MP with her name inscribed on it. This was done as a sign of respect, honour and recognition of her service to the All People’s Congress Party.

The late Hon. Mabel Neneh Turay was a former Member of Parliament representing the APC Party (2002 - 2007). She served the party in various capacities at local and national level.

Her remains were laid to rest at the Mafanta village cemetery.
