The University of Makeni (UniMak) wishes the Government and people of Sierra Leone a Happy New Year 2016. We thank God in a very special way for seeing us through the Ebola scourge for the past two years, to our government for the show of leadership and the citizenry for their courage and resilience against this epidemic.

The Ebola scourge in the country affected the entire socio-economic activities within the country most especially Education which is the lifeline in our struggle in poverty alleviation and sustainable nation building. Notwithstanding the above challenges, UniMak was able to re-adjust her academic calendar to suit the convenience of both our Academic staff and Students (Regular and Mature Learners) to resume and complete the 2014/2015 academic years.

In view of the above, the University of Makeni will be holding its Fourth Convocation ceremony on Saturday 13th February 2016 at 10am at the University’s convocation grounds (Fatima Campus) under the Distinguished Grand Chief Patronage of Rev. Prof. Giulio Albanese, Board Member for the Committee for Support to Developing countries in the the Episcopal Conference of Bishops in Italy.

We therefore extend our hearty invitation to all our benefactors, friends and well wishers to grace this memorable ceremony of our University.

We would also like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to the Government, our Donors and to all our partners that stood by us during these challenging moments in the history of our University and we pray that God will continue to bless and strengthen this relationship as we wish you all a Happy and Prosperous New Year 2016.

UniMak! Building a Civilisation of Love.
