The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) will be organizing a football gala on Friday October 18, 2013 in recognition of the Breast Cancer Global Awareness month and is schedule to take place at the SLFA Academy Grounds at 4 PM.

The gala, which is known as the Pink Ball will be played between Western Area combined and the National Under-20 women’s football team, while entry will be free of cost. The match will also be used as a test match for the Under-20 national team, which will be playing their Nigerian counterparts in Nigeria on the 27th October in the Under-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers first leg.

It could be recalled that during her campaign for the SLFA presidency a few months back, Mrs. Isha A. Johansen promised to bring back to life the defunct women’s football league and develop youth and women’s football in the country.
