Mohamed Sannoh, a Sierra Leonean, was recently stabbed to death in Sweden. We publish below a communication on the incident by another Sierra Leonean living in that country Mr. Dennis Deensie.

It’s with a heavy heart I report the unexpected death of a dear Sierra Leonean brother and friend, Mohamed Sannoh. Mohamed was stabbed to death (a knife stab to the heart) barely an hour and half into the New Year by a Gambian (a person he considered and called a close friend) in the hallway of his (Mohamed’s) cousin and her husband’s apartment in the Stockholm suburb of Märsta.

Mohamed, who was 29 and hailed from Levuma Madu, Kailahun District, and had lived in Sweden since 2000 as a UN-resettled refugee, is survived by his 10-year old daughter Mamie Sannoh, and all of us who loved and cared for him.

Mohamed was a very friendly and respectful person. Always smiling, and gifted with an infectious laughter. He will be dearly missed!!!!
