Ten beautiful Sierra Leonean beauty queens will be competing with each other for the prestigious Miss World Sierra Leone premier beauty pageant show organized by Madam Yoko Entertainment in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs.
The ten vivacious Sierra Leonean beauty queens are:
Aminata Nyelenkeh-winner of Miss Southern region 2008, Janet Kamara winner of Miss Northern region 2008, Isata Barrie, winner of Miss Easterner 2008, Tyrilia Gouldson winner of Miss Freetown, Janet Momoh, Safiatu Kargbo, Ramatulai Bangura, Lucy Peeley, Mariam Sesa and Maria Kargbo.
The show will be keenly contested following the wide publicity which it has generated.
Scores of distinguished patrons have already secured their invitations to grace the show which will take place on Friday June 20th at the prestigious Family Kingdom, Aberdeen.
Last year’s winner of the show held at Miatta Conference Hall, Youyi Buliding, was Miss Fatmata Turay. She represented Sierra Leone in the Miss World Pageant held in Beijing, China.
To select qualifiers for this year’s Miss Sierra Leone, Madam Yoko Entertainment, which holds the exclusive right to send a competitor from Sierra Leone to Miss World, has held regional contests in Bo for the entire southern region; in Kenema for all the Eastern regional queens and in Bombali for all the northern regional queens.
"I feel excited," one of the ten contestants said. I am going out there to show that the woman of today not only has physical beauty but also has intellect, charm and grace. See you there all you lovers of fun, music and beauty."
Speaking to this reporter, the Executive Director of Madam Yoko Entertainment, Mr. Sida Ansu Mansaray revealed that his entertainment group feels honoured to work with the government and the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs to organize such a wonderful event in the country.
"We promised and we will deliver and we are going to take the winner to represent Sierra Leone in the forthcoming Miss World annual premier beauty pageant show on October 4th 2008 at Ukraine," he said.
Ticket fees are Le20, 000 ordinary, patron single Le100, 000 and double Le150, 000.
The contestants’ profiles will be made available to all those who witness the show.
