Sekou and Christian join the PV team

Two powerful and skillful writers have recently joined the ever expanding Patriotic Vanguard team. They are Sekou Dauda Bangura, based in New Jersey and Christian Foday Sesay based in Dallas, Texas.

Born in Freetown, Sekou Dauda Bangura had his early education at the Roman Catholic Elementary School and the Schlenker Secondary School, Port Loko, before proceeding to the Albert Academy in Freetown, where he did his Sixth form.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts General and a Diploma in Education from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone, he taught at the Ahmadiyya Secondary School, Kissy Dock Yard, Freetown, for four years. While teaching, he also served as Assistant Editor of The Oracle.

Fired by a burning desire to further his education, he left Sierra Leone for the United States of America. While in the United States he founded the SIERRA LEONEAN, of which he was both Editor and Publisher.

A community leader and political activist, he holds a Diploma in Journalism and a Master of Arts in Corporate and Public Communication from Seton Hall University, South Orange, New Jersey. A Public Communication major, he was enrolled in the Graduate School of Diplomacy and International Relations at Seton Hall.

Sekou Dauda Bangura, who currently works for Nissan North America, has served as a substitute teacher for the Plainfield Board of Education in New Jersey and as an adjunct professor of English as a Second Language at Middlesex County College, New Brunswick, New Jersey.

Married with three children, Sekou lives in Piscataway, New Jersey.

Christian Foday Sesay Jr, is a Sierra Leonean by birth and a US citizen by naturalization. He attended St. Edward’s Secondary school (sixth form) before pursuing an undergraduate degree in Political Science and History at Fourah Bay College. Upon graduation, he taught for a year at Collegiate Secondary School in Freetown before travelling out of the country. Between 2006 and 2008, he has been to Sierra Leone three times. He hopes to be there again in December.

Christian has been residing in Texas for almost 10 years now. He currently works for the Fort Worth School district as a Special Education-Resource Specialist. During his stay in the US, he has been able to attain the following academic credentials:

*Associate Bachelors (Honors) - Accounting /Information Management - Tarrant County College

*Bachelors in Business Administration (Honors) - University of Texas

* MBA - University of Texas

*M.Ed - Instruction and Curriculum - Tarleton State University (Graduate Student).

Other writers to recently join PV are Sanpha Adams Sesay in Texas and Emmanuel Turay, the East Africa Bureau Chief in Nairobi, Kenya.
