The People’s Movement for Democratic Change (PMDC) will get full registration on Tuesday, according to a letter from A.D. Konomanyi the Secretary of the Political Parties Registration Commission (PPRC).
The letter, dated 6th April and addressed to the interim Secretary General of the PMDC noted that following visits to PMDC offices in the district headquarter towns of Bo, Kenema and Makeni and in the capital, Freetown, by PPRP and National Electoral Commission (NEC) officials and the fact no opposition to its registration has been made with regards to its constitution, name, aims and objectives, rules, symbol, colour and motto, the PPRP now deems it fit to register it on Tuesday 11th April at 10 a.m.
Observers believe PMDC’s full registration is the only signal political heavyweights in and out of government were waiting for to come out of the woodwork to openly declare their support for the new party.
