Our condolences to families of Mina tragedy victims

What happened recently in Mina, a Saudi Arabian city, is beyond sadness itself. Over 700 Muslim pilgrims perished in a horrific stampede as they were performing the ritual of the Stoning of the Devil.. Stampedes involving hundreds of thousands of pilgrims had happened in the past in that city but this year’s catastrophe is the most tragic.

What is so sad about this is that some of the people that passed away had saved money for most of their lives to be able to go to the Holy Land to fulfill one of the sacred duties of every Muslim, the Hajj. Others were there not because they could afford it but because they felt it was their DUTY as Muslims to be there. They loved their religion; they loved their spiritual values, their faith. So, it’s all very sad, whatever way you look at it.

On behalf of the Patriotic Vanguard staff, contributors and our numerous readers worldwide, we wish to extend heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families of the victims and all those connected to and affected by this monumental tragedy.
