It was with great sadness and regret the National Organization of Sierra Leoneans in North America (NOSLINA) learned of the transition of Leon "Folor" Jacobs on October 23, 2022. Folor was the Owner of Jacobs General Services Inc. which undertook commercial cleaning and environmental projects. He won large contracts and was highly successful as a businessman.

Cumulatively, Folor was NOSLINA’s highest single donor. At NOSLINA’S 2008 Annual Awards Gala marking the organization’s 10th Anniversary, Folor was given the group’s highest award for individuals who have excelled in enhancing the wellbeing of Sierra Leoneans in a business environment, the NOSLINA Entrepreneurial Leadership Award.

Folor was the Distinguished Grand Chief Patron for the 2009 NOSLINA Awards Gala and, for a few years at the group’s galas, he purchased Patron tables (each going for ten people per table) for his family, friends, and colleagues.

Folor was preceded in death and in NOSLINA Award recognitions by his uncle, Alfred Jacobs, who was Financial Attaché in the Embassy of Sierra Leone in Washington and recipient of the 2006 NOSLINA Posthumous Award.

NOSLINA extends its sincere heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Gloria Marie Jacobs and family. May the beloved soul of Leon "Folor" Jacobs rest in eternal perfect peace.
