According to Cocorioko newspaper, President Koroma last night delivered a blistering attack on the Concerned Sierra Leoneans (CSL), a dissident Sierra Leonean group based in the US.

Speaking to an audience of APC supporters at his hotel suite, President Koroma described CSL as a group of opportunists seeking attention and looking for jobs from his government with no clear understanding of what is happening back home as far accountability of Ebola funds is concerned.

According to Cocorioko President Koroma said his government set in motion the accountability issue by asking for an audit and made sure Parliament did a proper investigation and come out with a report.

The president also pointed out that CSL merely wanted to get back into governance using Ebola and the Vice President issue as a smokescreen.

CSL appeared in the US after the Vice President issue. They are largely supporters of the opposition Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) in Sierra Leone who have lost two elections (2007 and 2012) in recent times.

It’s a largely disorganized and volatile party with serious intra-party bickering and violence. Their party headquarters in Freetown has been hijacked by weed-smoking party thugs with whips which they use to threaten anybody they don’t like. John Benjamin, a party elder was nearly whipped at one time. Swift police intervention saved him from the SLPP thugs many of whom are ex-combatants from the civil war days.
