NEC chairman responds to allegations

Mohamed Nfa Alie Conteh, chairman of Sierra Leone’s National Electoral Commission has been responding to some allegations against him and his staff.

In the press release below, Conteh (pictured) explained what happens to ballot papers after voting is done, according to NEC’s laid down procedures.

He also dealt with wrong information in the media about the boxes found at a NEC facility at Waterloo, outside Freetown and other issues.

He advised the media to contact NEC in the future rather than engage in speculations. He added that NEC is constantly in touch with political parties to deal with any issue that may cause concern. Read the press release below:
