Sierra Leone’s representative in this year’s Miss World Annual Premier Beauty
Pageant, Neyorlyn Melrose Williams, on Sunday October 3rd, 2010 left the shores of Freetown onboard Kenya Airlines to participate in the 60th Miss World Pageant contest scheduled to take place in Beijing, China.

Speaking to this reporter before departing for China where the Miss World Contest will be held, the 6 feet 4 inches sexy, well-designed and stylish beauty queen revealed that her dream has become true to represent her country in a world contest.

“I am very excited to represent my country in the Miss World Premier Contest and I will do all my best to make sure that I fly the country’s flag high,” she said.

She heaped praises on the Commercial Director of Comium-Sierra Leone, Mr. Joe Amara Bangali, the Executive Director of Madam Yoko Entertainment Enterprise, Mr. Sida Ansumana Mansaray and the Managing Director of The Satellite Newspaper, yours truly Ibrahim Babatunde Sesay, for their untiring effort to make sure that she participates in the competition.

Also, in an exclusive interview with the Executive Director of Madam Yoko Entertainment, Mr. Sida Ansumana Mansaray, who has the franchise to send Sierra Leone’s representative to the world contest confided with this reporter that Sierra Leone has a chance to host the world event in the near future.

He added that the Miss World Organizers have interest in Sierra Leone because of the natural beaches and are presently working on modalities what they could do to host the competition in Sierra Leone. “The only problem I think the Miss World people are facing to host the competition in Sierra Leone is hotel facilities but they actually like Sierra Leone,” Sida said.

He thanked the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs and the Government of Sierra Leone for the support they have been giving to Madam Yoko Entertainment.

Mansaray called upon university students to participate in the Miss Sierra Leone contest and appealed to Government to support the Miss Sierra Leone project in Sierra Leone which Madam Yoko Entertainment organizes every year.

It would be recalled that Sierra Leone’s representative in last year’s Miss World Contest, Mariatu Kargbo, put up great performance in the competition.

Earlier, His Excellency President Ernest Koroma congratulated the beauty queen Neyorlyn stressing that she will be an ambassador for the country.
