Sierra Leonean model Mabeenty Mankotta, pictured, was the centre of attraction at this year’s Panache Runway 2010 dubbed "Faces West Gala" in Canada. The event was held on Sunday October 24th, 2010 at the Canad Inns Hotel, Polo Park, Winnipeg, Canada.
PANACHE Model and Talent Management and School is an international model and talent agency located in Winnipeg and it has the reputation of being one of the leading agencies in Canada in finding and discovering new talent with a strong potential for the modelling industry.
They are also recognized for being highly professional and effective at developing their models for the industry both regionally and internationally.
Panache models work with great success globally and are highly in demand for every major market in the world including New York, Miami, Milan, Paris, Hamburg, London, Tokyo and other parts of Asia.
Ms. Mankotta is one of Panache’s top models and she’s doing within highly professional standards. This year’s event presented thirty models (male & female) from across the country, and Ms. Mankotta was the only Sierra Leonean and in fact the only African in the entire runway.
When she got on the runway, modelling a black Costa Blanca dress and heel shoes, the audience exploded with screams. She also modelled designs by DESIGNER JULIE PEDERSON, LE CHATEAU, NYGARD INTERNATIONAL, PEEPERS SWIMWEAR, POPPY, STELLA AND DOT, THE BAY POLO PARK, WAREHOUSE ONE & THE JEAN STORE
It was all glitz and glamour whenever Ms. Mankotta modelled any clothes on the runway.
I spoke to her briefly right after she finished modelling. I asked her how long had she been modelling.
"Seven years now, and it’s been fun all along," she said.
"Do you find it challenging doing this business professionally?"
"Not at all, it’s professional but it’s really fun for me to be on the runway and doing my thing."
Mankotta, a University of Manitoba student, is standing tall and ready to rock it.
She is also the founder and Chief Executive Officer of the "Helping Hand Foundation," an organization founded and based in Canada with the intent of raising awarenes on the infant mortality rate in Africa, especially in Sierra Leone.
