Who is Mr Ahmed Koroma (AKA-Stokes)?
Mr Ahmed Koroma (photo), our author of the month of September 2018, is a chemist by profession. He is currently Director of Analytical Services at one of the leading dietary supplement companies in America. He was born in the Central part of Freetown, Sierra Leone, in the mid-sixties and grew in both Central and East End parts of the city. He attended the Ebenezar Infant School, St Edwards Primary and Secondary Schools as well as the Prince of Wales School in Kingtom, Freetown. Ahmed Koroma graduated from Fourah Bay College (University of Sierra Leone) in 1989 with a BSc Honours in Chemistry. At Fourah Bay College, he studied Chemistry, Botany and Geology, but his love for the Humanities particularly English Literature was evident. He was a member of the Assojo Press Journalism Club as well as a frequent contributing writer at “Chuk’s Press”. He was also a member of the Quimanora and Cyclades clubs.

Ahmed Koroma immigrated to America in 1991 and holds a Masters degree in Chemistry from California State University, Northridge. He is married and lives in the Los Angeles area with his wife, Ramatu, and his son, Majeed, and daughter, Zara. He has published two collections: _Of Flour And Tears_ (2012) and _Along The Odokoko River_ (SLWS, 2016). His next collection, _The Moon Rises Over Salioko_ will be released in the Fall of 2018.
