Message from David Sinnah (photo) president of the Federation of Sierra Leonean Communities of Canada, Mr. David Sinnah.

After months of meetings with representatives from eight provincial Sierra Leonean Community Associations, we are delighted to announce the establishment and registration of our new national organization, the Federation of Sierra Leonean Communities of Canada.

The federation is a non-profit national organization that represents and promotes the interests of the Sierra Leonean communities, associations, organizations, and groups.

The issues we are facing in our communities are many and we need collective actions to address some of these issues.

The Federation aims to build and sustain a platform for national collective action that enables us to advocate and support programs that can enrich the lives of our people and the communities. The Federation also strives to build and strengthen inclusive, diverse, and caring Sierra Leonean communities, where community members can feel welcome and belong.

We encourage all community members to get involved in whatever little way they can in efforts to improve and promote the development of our communities.

In the next few months, we will reach out to you to get your opinion about key priority areas in the form of priority survey. We want to collaborate with community members and stakeholders on key issues affecting our communities in Canada.

We look forward to your participation in building and promoting our Sierra Leonean communities.

Thank you,

David Sinnah
President
