Honourable Claude Kamanda (photo), the Chief Whip of the Sierra Leone Parliament was involved in a road accident Tuesday November 8 while on his way to parliamentary sittings. He is now in a Freetown hospital receiving treatment.
He is Member of Parliament for Constituency 095 Western Area Rural.
According to reports, the front tyres of his vehicle exploded while climbing a hill along the Regent-Grafton road.
Both the parliamentarian and his driver, Foday Conteh, survived the crash with minor injuries.
The vehicle itself was not severely damaged.
