Guinean President Alpha Conde over the weekend led a campaign to clean up Guinea’s towns and cities.
He started the campaign over the weekend in the capital, Conakry, where broom in hand, he joined men and women to sweep and clean up one of the neighbourhoods ( photo).
Conde urged his people to roll up their sleeves and make sure they live in clean and healthy environments for their own good.
Conakry (population about two million), like most African cities, has a serious problem of garbage management, sewage disposal, toilet facilities and many other problems associated with big cities around the world.
