By Mc-Anthony Keah.
Dear Friends,
I am a Canadian originally from Liberia currently living in Toronto. I have written a novel that is soon to be release by my publisher. Please see the email from PublishAmerica below. In 2002, I travelled to West Africa and carried out field research for my Master of Science thesis on Children and War. I focused specifically on Liberia where I was born and studied the rehabilitation process for war-affected children and child soldiers. Since that time I have made numerous presentations through organizations like the Canadian Red Cross, the Africa Law Institute, Model United Nations (University of Guelph) and the Norman Patterson School of International Studies (University of Carleton-Ottawa). I have been a member of a special committee at the South African Human Rights Commission (South Africa) that sought a separate legislation in parliament to establish Children’s Rights and am currently a member of the forum for children and armed conflict in Ottawa, Canada.
My contact number is 416-912-8776.
Kind Regards!
McAnthony
Dear friend of Mc-Anthony Keah,
We are proud to announce the upcoming release of Mc-Anthony Keah’s new book Growing Up Naked: The Untold Stories of Children at War!
About the book: In Liberia the civil conflict that lasted for a little over a decade not only tore down the country and broke families apart, it destroyed the lives of thousands of children and left them with wounds deeper than the physical eye can see. Like most of the African continent and elsewhere in some parts of the world, little boys and girls were taught to be killers. In Growing Up Naked: The Untold Stories of Children at War, Mc-Anthony Keah recreates the events and captures the story of the inner pain of child soldiers. In a powerful voice using fictional characters, the author brings together the victims (child soldiers), the researcher (Canadian student) and the world (conference participants) to explain what it means for the children and the implications for the world.
