As many Sierra Leoneans around the world prepare to return home to enjoy the traditional Christmas festivities, an annual affair in this West African country, the UK-based Westminster Group has announced a resumption of regular ferry services on Friday December 9, 2016.
This is very good news for Sierra Leoneans in and out of the country including the government itself as problems with the ferries that take passengers from Lungi International Airport across the ocean to Freetown itself have always been an issue for decades.
The announcement from Westminster Group, a reputable British company, seems to give the assurance that passengers are unlikely to face any problems with their ferries which they say have undergone registration formalities, sea trial tests and international safety compliance checks. One of their ferries carries the name "Sierra Queen" (see photo).
