Emmerson Hits Winnipeg, Canada, June 16

He has brought the heat to the airwaves and dance halls in Sierra Leone, The Gambia, England, USA, Holland, Australia and Canada with his ground breaking singles Tutu Party, Borbor Belleh and Gi Am Bench.

And now Sierra Leone’s multi-platinum artist Emmerson plans to heat up the road and rock his fans with guest artist Ghanaian music sensation Steve Kodjo Kelly for a headlining North American tour in support of his second smash album " "Tu Fut Arata"

Emmerson(photo), who undoubtedly is Sierra Leone’s top selling artist of all time according to record and album sales will kick off the Canada phase of his North American tour in Winnipeg, Manitoba on Saturday June 16 at The Casa Do Minho,Portuguese Centre. His next stop will be the City of the Oilers Edmonton on Friday June 29 and the Golden city of the West Coast, Vancouver on Canada Day July 1st.

Speaking from Freetown to this writer, the boss of all “Sugar Meresin”, Emmerson, said his North American tour is all about his fans who have not only stood behind him but have supported him with respect and much love.

“Now, it’s my turn to give back to my fans. I want them to know that I love them and I would do all it takes to make them happy and feel appreciated.” Emmerson also revealed that he will be doing some of his music videos in Winnipeg which will feature his fans.

Asked why he is opening his North American tour in Winnipeg, he said “I love the happy vibes of the Sierra Leone Community and the people of Winnipeg .They showed me love and I had a blast when I was there last year. This time it’s fresh and different”. The tour will bring tracks such as "Borbor Pain” “Miss You” “2 Fut Arata” “Some More” and other tracks from his Second CD to life at The Casa Do Minho, Portuguese Centre Stage for the first time on Saturday June 16 2007.

The Guest artist on Emmerson’s Canadian tour is the internationally acclaimed artist from Philadelphia named Steve Kodjo Kelly. Kelly, according to Rap News Network www.rapnews.net would revolutionize the rap and hip hop gospel genre just as Kirk Franklin did worldwide. Steve Kodjo Kelly is a native of Ghana/Liberia and was born into a family influenced by gospel music; it is to no surprise that Steve’s love for music has gotten him thus far. Recently he was on tour in Africa where he thrilled jam packed audiences in Ghana and Liberia with his powerful stage choreography.
