The body of the late Abdul Franklyn Serry-Kamal (photo) former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice has arrived in Freetown over the weekend, according to reliable sources.

The body of the late APC politician, who served his party throughout his life and never joined any other party will be given full honours by the current government in Freetown before being taken to his final resting place in Makeni his home town.

Makeni town and its population, according to our sources, is in a sombre mood as they await the late Serry-Kamal’s body. Thousands APC activists including family members at home and abroad, especially the United States where he passed away, will be both in Freetown and Makeni for the funeral ceremonies. As a son of a Paramount Chief in Makeni, the late man is considered part of the Makeni "royalty" and will be honoured in both the traditional and modern styles.

The late politician and lawyer helped thousands of Sierra Leoneans in his legal practice, usually helping the poor and destitute for free.

He was one of the few party members that stood by the party and helped to revive it at a time many people had abandoned it after the NPRC military coup that overthrew the "Old APC" Joseph Saidu Momoh government in April 1992.
