The month of February has been declared, nationally, Black History Month.

In recognition of this, the Centre of Integration for African Immigrants (CIIA-CIAI) will be hosting a Black History Market & Cultural Showcase on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at The Warehouse, 2650 Slocan Street, Vancouver. The event will run from 10:30am to 8:00pm. Admission is $5.

This showcase will feature the African/Black community and other cultural groups, recognizing the enduring contributions made in Canada by the African/Black community.

The Black History Market & Cultural Showcase will act as a medium to educate, promote and celebrate African/Black culture through dance, theatre, poetry, music and food. Along with the entertainment aspect of the show, vendors can purchase tables to promote their goods and services.

The Black History Market & Cultural Showcase is sponsored by The City of Vancouver, Canadian Heritage, The Warehouse, Western Union, 94.5 FM, TD Waterhouse, EducaCentre.
