Miss Sierra Leone 2008 off to South Africa

Miss Sierra Leone 2008, Tyrilia Gouldson(photo) will leave the shores of Freetown tomorrow Thursday November 13 onboard Kenya Air-lines to represent the country in the 58th ANNUAL MISS WORLD PREMIER BEAUTY PAGEANT scheduled to take place in Johannesburg, South Africa, on Saturday, December 13, 2008.

Speaking to this reporter, the smart, intelligent, vivacious Miss Sierra Leone said she was extremely delighted to represent the country at the classic world event.

“Everything is now set for my representation,” she said, thanking the First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone Madam Sia Koroma, Mr. Fadi Mrad, Mr. Slim Chadi, Union Trust Bank, the Minister of Tourism & Cultural Affairs, the Minister of Health and Madam Yoko Entertainment for their respective contributions towards the achievement of her goal.

Miss Tyrilia Gouldson, 22, attended the St. Joseph Primary and Secondary schools before proceeding to the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM) where she earned a degree in Public Administration. She is currently an employee of COMIUM Sierra Leone, a leading mobile network.

The eloquent beauty queen is a health campaigner focusing on Malaria Prevention and Eradication. She is also interested in promoting the welfare of street kids. “I would like to see a better world where people are free from diseases and every child provided for,” she averred.
Asked how confident she was that she would bring laurels to the country, Gouldson replied: “I am going out there to do my best, to portray myself and my country in the best cultural light; and I hope to do that to the best of my ability. God help me.”

Meanwhile, the Executive Director of Madam Yoko Entertainment Mr. Sida Ansu Mansaray said his organization felt highly honoured to work with government through the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs to stage a splendid national beauty pageant.

“We promised and we delivered,” he said, with a smile.
