Authoritative sources have revealed to The Patriotic Vanguard that 49 national delegates are set to participate in this year SLFA annual Congress.
The event will take place at the National Stadium Atlantic Hall July 18th 2008.
There is much anticipation among the football family as to what will be the outcome of this year’s special SLFA Congress which will see the election of a new executive.
Competing for the coveted position of SLFA President is the current holder, Nahim Khadi(photo) who is being challenged by past loser, Dr. Foday Bangura aka Bangso.
Bangso Dream Team which includes social heavyweights like Tunde Scott, Alhaji Nabie, and Rodney Michael is poised to unseat Nahim Khadi whose tenure has been wracked with allegations of corruption, mismanagement and undemocratic management.
This year’s Congress which has been postponed twice because Nahim Khadi executive was still to come up with an audited account of his administration promises to be noisy.
Last week, the Ministry of Sports, Dr. Minkaliu Bah called a meeting of stakeholders from all across the country where he voiced his criticisms of the game and suggestions on the way forward for a better organization.
Meanwhile, Sierra Leone chances of qualifying for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa remains slim. During the 1st round the Leone Stars scored only four points. Nahim Khadi has promised that if Sierra Leone did not qualify for 2008 Nation’s Cup he will resign his position.
