NOSLINA extends application deadline for Master of Public Health (MPH) scholarships at Njala University, Bo, Sierra Leone
August 14, 2023, marked two years to the day - _August 14, 2021_ - of the passing of Dr. John Oliver Davies-Cole (photo), former Chairman of the Board of the National Organization of Sierra Leoneans in North America (NOSLINA) and State Epidemiologist of Washington, DC, capital of the United States. In commemoration of the second anniversary of Davies-Cole’s transition, August 14, 2023, NOSLINA released the link for its scholarship applications www.noslina.net/2023scholarship for Njala University graduate students to pursue the Masters in Public Health (MPH) degree at the University.
_Due to overwhelming interest and a high demand for NOSLINA’s Davies-Cole MPH Scholarships at Njala University, the organization has extended its deadline for applications to *September 30, 2023 at 11:59 PM.*_
NOSLINA is not new to the business of awarding scholarships to deserving and needy students in Sierra Leone, an exercise the organization has engaged in for decades and for which several secondary schools have benefited. In 2011, NOSLINA sadly lost its Legal Counsel, Attorney Sadu Bah. As a result, NOSLINA created the Sadu Bah Scholarship Fund, which sponsored a law student at Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone. That law student is today a solicitor and advocate at the High Court of Sierra Leone.
NOSLINA’s sponsorship of Davies-Cole scholars to pursue the degree of MPH is geared to the ultimate goal of preventing infectious diseases and curbing viruses in Sierra Leone.
