In a recent statement World Health Organisation Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus (photo) reminded the world that on 30th January 2020 his organisation declared COVID 19 a Public Health Emergency of International Concern, which is the highest level of alarm.

Six weeks later, on March 11, WHO described COVID19 as a pandemic, he said.

More than 6 million people have died since. The cases and deaths are declining and countries are lifting measures but it is far from over, he warned.
