Supreme Court throws out SLPP petition

IN THE SUPREME COURT
OF THE STATE OF SIERRA LEONE

ORDER ON PETITIONERS MOTION FOR TEMPORARY RESTRAINING ORDER.

The Motion for injunction and Temporary Restraining Order (hereinafter TRO) brought to the court by the petitioners was heard by the Court sitting en banc and the Court having heard the arguments of counsel rules as follows.

The Court ORDERS that the petitioners motion for TRO is hereby DISMISSED on the grounds that this court is without Jurisdiction pursuant to the applicable sections of the Electoral Laws act of 2000. The Court further ORDERS that said petition is dismissed on the grounds that even if the court has jurisdiction on other grounds, petitioners motion is MOOT and must be dismissed on the courts own motion.

IT IS HEREBY ORDERED THAT THE MOTION OF PETITIONERS IS HEREBY DISMISSED SUA SPONTE.

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED THAT ALL COSTS WILL AND SHOULD BE TAXED TO THE PETITONERS. RESPONDENTS AND REAL PARTY IN IN INTEREST SHALL BE ALLOWED 10 DAYS TO PRESENT ITS COSTS FOR AN ORDER SPECIFIC AS TO COSTS.

IT IS SO ORDERED.
