London Mining has announced a donation of Le 115 million (US$ 26,497) as an
emergency support to help stem the spread of the Ebola disease outbreak in Sierra Leone. This is part of London Mining’s ongoing support to communities, local authorities and government to prevent the spread of the disease and a purely precautionary action plan with the locus of the Ebola outbreak in a completely different part of the country.

The Company has donated Le70 million to support the Port Loko District Health Management Team Ebola Response Plan, through the Marampa Chiefdom Health Committee and the Paramount Chief of Marampa Chiefdom Ba Koblo Queen and a
further Le45 million to the Government of Sierra Leone, through the Ministry of Political and Public Affairs.

Commenting on the Company’s goodwill gesture, London Mining’s Acting Managing Director, Martin Small, said, “London Mining recognizes and understands the threat that Ebola presents to the communities in which we are located, and to the country as a whole. We believe that it is our responsibility as good corporate citizens to stand firm with our concession communities and the Government of Sierra Leone in their efforts to tackle the spread of the disease. We are therefore happy to make this donation, which we hope will allow our host communities and government take the steps necessary to ensure that the threat of the Ebola disease is contained, for the benefit of all Sierra Leoneans.”

In Port Loko District the funds are to be used on a public campaign to educate and sensitize communities on the Ebola disease, to provide sanitation and personal hygiene education, and on public information materials. They will
also support the provision of protective clothing, isolation facilities, testing kits and chlorine for local clinics and the Port Loko Government Hospital and the training of health professionals.

The Ebola epidemic has not affected London Mining’s workforce and operations.
However, London Mining has enlisted the expertise of a specialist in haemorrhagic fever outbreaks and tropical diseases, Professor Adriano Duse, to review the company’s screening and control measures and revise its escalation plan; as well as to provide advice to its staff, contractors and communities on concerns related to Ebola. Professor Duse has held consultations with local stakeholders across the Company’s concession area.

Responding to London Mining’s generosity Paramount Chief Bai Koblo Queen said, “London Mining is a fitting partner for progress, always poised to help our local communities. We are grateful for their assistance in joining our
community and other stakeholders in sensitizing our people to combat the spread of this deadly epidemic.”

London Mining is an expanding producer of high specification iron ore concentrate for the global steel industry and is focused on identifying, developing and operating sustainable mines. London Mining commenced production from its 100% owned Marampa Mine in Sierra Leone in 2011, producing 3.4Mwmt/a in 2013 and plans to expand the mine to a capacity of 6.5Mwmt/a. Marampa, which directly employs nearly 1,300 nationals, has sufficient resources to support a staged expansion to 20Mwmt/a. London Mining has also completed bankable feasibility studies outlining plans for a further 20Mwmt/a of iron ore production by developing mines in Greenland and Saudi Arabia. The Company listed on AIM in London on 6 November 2009. It trades under the symbols LOND.L (Reuters) and LOND LN
(Bloomberg).
