To Brother Robert N. Kessebeh
It is precisely a year (January 23, 1964—July 1, 2009) when my greatest friend, Brother Robert Nathaniel Kessebeh left this earth. Family members, relatives, friends and colleagues at St. Patrick’s Church and its affiliates, the Methodist Boys’ High School, the Milton Margai Teachers College, the Sierra Leone Brewery, the National Shipping Company and the several fraternal organizations that brother Robert served so diligently.
What moves through us is a silence, a quite sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we have not understand why Robert left us so soon, or why he left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that he died, but that he lived. Moreover, his life gave us memories too beautiful to forget. At this time, a year gone by, all we can do is to hold tight to the great fun memories for comfort. We love you, Robert; I believed that the best of your days are now face-to face with your heavenly father. Romans 14:8 “For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.”
