FC Johansen of Sierra Leone last Sunday, October 3, went down 4-3 in post game penalty shoot out in the grand final of the U-14 Mittonorden Youth Championship in Sweden. The match ended 1-1 at full time.

FC Johansen(photo) topped their group (Group A) with a maximum nine points from three matches after defeating Sweden’s national U-14 side by a lone goal, Poland 2-0 and Turkey 4-0.

They also defeated Sweden two nil in the semi finals before crashing to Ukraine in the final.

However, although FC Johansen lost to their Ukrainian counterparts their general performance in the competition was absolutely impressive.

Speaking to The Patriotic Vanguard, an FC Johansen official, Abu Kai who traveled with the team to Ukraine said they were very much delighted with the team’s performance.

He added that the young and promising boys made Sierra Leoneans based in Sweden and at home extremely proud.

FC Johansen will return home later this week.
