Child marriage in Sierra Leone must be made a crime if it is not at the moment. What are our parliamentarians doing? Why would anyone not see this as a problem for any society? Getting married when you are a child obviously indicates you had no power to make a decision on what you want out of your life as a person. A new debate on such issues is warranted but I wonder if many of those who benefit from this exploitation, some of whom may be in reputable status, would encourage a ban and criminilization.
