The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) this afternoon
declared their support for the opposition All People’s
Congress (APC).

The declaration was made official by the party’s
leader, Amadu Jalloh, at the APC party headquarters on
Hannah Benka Coker Street.

This latest development came less than four days to
the declaration of the final results by the National
Electoral Commission (NEC) on Saturday.

It also came as the nation is gearing towards a
possible run-off in the Presidential race.
NDA, so far, ended fourth in the Presidential and
Parliamentary elections and according to Jalloh, their
decision to join the APC was based on national
interest.

NDA is the second political party to have declared
support for the APC shortly after the August 11, 2007
Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

Earlier, the breakaway group of the United National
People’s Party (UNPP), the Revolutionary United Front
(RUF) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Sorbeh,
declared their support for the APC a few weeks to the
August 11, polls.

This latest development is a major boost to the APC’s
chances in the imminent run-off tentatively scheduled
for September 6, 2007.
