Sierra Leoneans in Edmonton, Canada, are looking forward to a live ‘Tutu Party’ featuring Emmerson Bockarie on Saturday 8th September. It is one of several stops of his current tour of North America. Similar gigs in Philadelphia, Staten Island (NY), and other US cities precede the much-anticipated show at Clareview in the east of Edmonton.

Emmerson is no doubt one of the biggest stars in Sierra Leonean show business, with many fans in both Sierra Leone and other countries where there are sizeable Sierra Leonean communities. It will be his second performance in this city; the first performance was last year when he drew quite a crowd.

Emmerson first hit the limelight in Freetown a couple of years ago. Renowned Disc jockey and music producer, King Fisher, first heard him rap in his (Fisher’s) Bodyguard Studios and was instantly captivated. They struck a deal and Emmerson soon became a household name, popular for his rhythm and lyrics.

He has hits like "Borbor Belleh" ‘Tutu Party’ and ‘Borbor Pain". His lyrics are mostly in Krio, the most commonly spoken language in Sierra Leone. For details on his tour go to www.myspace.com/sugarmedecine.
