Vice-President and SLPP Presidential flag bearer,
Solomon Berewa(photo) yesterday unveiled the SLPP plans and
programmes to the next stage of the journey towards a
new Sierra Leone as contained in the party’s
manifesto 2007-2012 at the Bank of Sierra Leone
Complex, Freetown.

The SLPP Presidential candidate said with optimism
that the next SLPP administration will aim at making
Sierra Leone a country where abject poverty will be
the sad souvenir of a bleak past.

His administration, he went on, will make provision
for young people to enjoy the excitement of youth
without resorting to violence, and a society where
equal opportunities will be available to everyone and
each individual can make his or her choice for a
future of hope.

Berewa pledged to uphold the core values presented in
the manifesto and to report back regularly to the
people of this country “on the progress we are making
and the difficulties we encounter”.

According to him, his personal commitment to lead this
country towards the goals outlined in the manifesto is
unwavering. He also formally launched the SLPP
campaign and his quest for the mantle of leadership.

Meanwhile, Solomon Berewa and Momodu Koroma are kick
starting their Presidential and Vice-Presidential
campaign tomorrow in Kono at the start of a five day
provincial tour which will also take them to Tongo,
Kenema, Bo, Pujehun, Mano and ending at Berewa’s home
town of Bumpeh.

Momodu Koroma is returning home today from Morocco
where he attended a donors conference to solicit US$50
million for the revitalization of the Kingtom Power
Station which has been overhauled with spares supplied
and work undertaken by the Moroccans. The first step
was the lighting of some of the major streets in
Freetown.

Also at the Bank Complex today, the APC is launching
its manifesto.
