Benin(photo) revived their hopes of reaching the 2008 Nations Cup with a 2-0 victory over Sierra Leone on Sunday.

Goalkeeper Rachad Chitou opened the scoring after 22 minutes by converting a penalty in the Group Nine qualifier in Cotonou.

The home side doubled their lead in the 77th minute when Mouri Ogoubiyi slotted from close range.

The victory is a boost for Benin, who suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Togo in the opening match of the group last month.
